The Coaldale State General Hospital admitted 2,874 patients in the year that just ended, according to a report issued by the Board of Trustees.

There were 279 births; 198 deaths; 2,267 silicosis treatments; 1,928 emergency department visits; 11,174 X-ray examinations; 49,206 laboratory tests; and 1,534 dispensary visits.R.J. Valentine, superintendent, reported operating expenses for the first half of the fiscal year which ended Dec. 31 were $809,369. The institution collected $845,952, an indication that the hospital is a self-sustaining facility.
