MARCH 5, 1957The prospects of creating a vocational school in Carbon County are not too encouraging because of the refusal of some districts to approve the plan, Superintendent of Schools Stuart E. Prutzman told members of the Jim Thorpe Area School Committee during a meeting held in the junior high school library.Approval of the school program, which is considered a must if Carbon County is to advance industrially, demands the individual approval of all the participating school districts.To date, an advisory committee has found the cost per pupil would be approximately $150 a year, less transportation costs. The school has been proposed for location in Jim Thorpe, the center-most part of the county.
