Andrew Mars returns for concert in Tamaqua

A local man, now residing in Philadelphia, will be the featured performer at the next concert at the Tamaqua Community Art Center.

Andrew Mars, who grew up splitting his time between Mahoning Valley and Connecticut, is a vocalist, composer and performer of alternative music combined with a classical style and field recordings. His unique blend was recently covered in an article published in Philadelphia Weekly, an alternative newspaper covering all things Philadelphia, and The New York Times described his voice as “spellbinding”.His debut album, “Public Privacy”, spans multiple genres and has been described as a “nuanced and beautiful time capsule of modern life and love” by WXPN. Mars’ work also includes a live recording featuring his band “Settled Arrows”, a solo covers album (“Taking Hits), and a rerecording of “Public Privacy”, which was recorded in a public forum.He will perform a solo concert at the art center at 7 p.m. on May 7.
