L & L Fire Company hosts Homecoming Festival

ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Members and volunteers with the Lehigh and Lausanne (L & L) Volunteer Fire Company in Weatherly hosted their 67th annual Homecoming Festival at their firehouse over the weekend The event consisted of homemade food, games, activities, Chinese auction, balloon pop, bands and DJs. "This festival grows every year," said 67-year volunteer Martha Raynock, who also serves as the fire company's secretary. Raynock pointed out that her uncle, Michael Hallahan, had donated the land for the fire company over 67 years ago. "We apreciate all the volunteers and support from the community for this event," said Tony McFadden, Fire Chief. He added, "We encourage all to join our family." "The homecoming title came from when veterans were returning from war," said Jay Koch, Captain, L & L Fire Police. Clare Karotko, 10, shows her sister, Kaya, 11, a plant she could win at one of the stands.
