Members of the board of Miners Memorial Medical Center, Tamaqua dignitaries, and citizens gathered on the former Tamaqua Municipal Parking lot, next to the Tamaqua Public Library, to break ground for the new Miners Community Health Center, a branch of the Miners Memorial Medical Center, Coaldale.

Ron Blisard, chairman of the board, turned the symbolic first shovel of earth. The facility will have full lab services, X-ray, and other services on the site.
