Tamaqua police closed a portion of SR209 near Sisters Cantina for a short time Saturday evening while good samaritans worked in the rain to clean up a large trail of garbage strewn on the road. Sisters Cantina donated garbage bags and cleaning supplies during the cleanup. Officers pointed out that, in addition to littering, this could have caused an accident.
