A new case management system in Carbon County that has given several departments problems with obtaining correct information has been mostly resolved.
Earlier this week, Karen Sweeney, assistant court administrator, said that most of the issues with the new Tyler Technologies Odyssey case management system have been fixed.
“We are still waiting on answers for two outstanding issues,” she said. “They are the two letter names and estate cases.”
The problem came to a head in June when several title searchers county employees approached the board of commissioners with concerns over the new system. The system went live in April and replaced the Anita Civil Case Management system for the court administration, clerk of courts, prothonotary and register of wills/orphans court offices, as well as used to search titles and liens for title searchers for properties being sold. It was purchased in 2021 at a cost of $604,840.
In June, title searchers called the system “inadequate,” “a burden,” “nothing but headaches,” and “falling short.”
The commissioners requested a meeting with Tyler Technologies regarding the problems.
A week later, the county reported that the meeting was held and the company said that it would immediate begin working on resolving issues.
The company was given a deadline and made several changes.
