A Tamaqua man was sent to prison on charges he violated a protection from abuse order, Tamaqua police said.
According to police, officers were called to a home on Rowe Street on July 26 by a woman who said Isaih Blankson was inside her residence and “tussled” with her over $300 in cash. Police the woman had an active protection order against Blankson.
During the incident, the woman said Blankson took the money. The woman also told officers that he entered the home through an unlocked rear window and left when she told him she had called police. She did not report any injuries from the struggle and said her children were home.
According to the order, Blankson is not permitted to enter the home or have physical contact with the woman and the children.
Officers found Blankson on West Broad Street and ordered him to stop. Police said he did not immediately listen but was eventually taken into custody. Police said he had the cash in his pocket.
He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua who set bail at $10,000 straight cash. He was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison.
