FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS
Franklin Township supervisors handled the following business at a recent meeting:
• Made a motion to approve the training request for Police Officer Chris Lekka to attend the course “On-Scene Collision Investigation” at the Northeast Training Center for the Pennsylvania State Police from Sept. 25 to Oct. 6. There will be no cost to the township because it is within driving distance for Lekka.
• Approval the renewal of the 2023/2024 Junkyard Permit Application - Lehighton Scrap Recycling/JME Land Company Inc.
• Made a motion to approve the request from Fire Police Capt. Walter Achey to seek assistance with traffic control and parking for the Franklin Township Block Party from Palmerton and Lehighton boroughs, and Lehigh Township. The dates of the block party are July 28-29 beginning at noon both days.
• Made a motion to approve the request from the Franklin Township Lions’ Club to have the Franklin Township Fire Police assist with parking cars for the Picnic in the Park festivities on from 12:30-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17.
• Made a motion to approve waiver request for the Carpenter Subdivision Plans from Section 702.ag - Pennsylvania Natural Diversity Inventory sites.
• Made a motion to approve a waiver request from the Carpenter Subdivision Plans from Section 702.ah - Pennsylvania Historic Museum Commission archaeologically sensitive sites and historic sites.
• Made a motion to approve a waiver request for the Carpenter Subdivision Plan from Section 514 of the Franklin Township Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, concerning the width to depth ratio for proposed Lot No. 2. The proposed Lot #2 is irregularly shaped and may not comply with the depth to width ration as stated in the Ordinance.
• Made a motion to advertise Burning Ordinance 2023-01.
• Made a motion to adopt Resolution 2023-11 - Land Application of Sewage Sludge.
