Woman charged after Lehighton traffic stop

A Lehighton woman has been charged following a traffic stop in the borough on the Fourth of July.

At 2:25 p.m., Lehighton Police conducted a traffic investigation in the 100 block of South First Street where the driver refused to identify herself or provide required documents.

She was asked and ordered several times to remove herself from the vehicle, but refused.

While being removed by officers, a rear female passenger interfered with the removal of the driver by pulling the driver back into the car.

That woman, too, also had to be forcefully removed from the car. The back passenger, after being taken into custody, identified herself as Crystal Miller, 43.

She further identified the driver as Constance Miller, 58.

Constance Miller was charged with obstructing administration of law as well as numerous summary traffic offenses.

She was sent to the Carbon County Correctional Facility on the charges.

Charges against Crystal Miller are pending approval by the Carbon County District Attorney’s Office.
