The Palmerton Area Historical Society will present its monthly program at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Palmerton Library’s Knight’s Gallery.

The speaker will be David Taschler, Ph.D., speaking on Palmerton Part 2, “The Town That Zinc Built.”

The public is invited; handicap accessible; free admission.

The society will have its annual picnic at 5 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Walnutport Canal Pavilion. Before the picnic at 4 p.m. the Walnutport Canal will have its museum open for tours.
