The National Weather Service office in Mount Holly, New Jersey, has confirmed a tornado touched down Monday between Martins Creek in Northampton County and Belvidere in Warren County, New Jersey.
More details, including the path length and path width, will be released later today, the weather service said.
Storms are moving through the area and a flood watch remains in effect through midnight.
Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast before 3 a.m., then a slight chance of showers.
Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain.
