Monroe library used book sale opens Sat.

The Friends of Eastern Monroe Public Library will host its annual book sale in the Community Room at the Hughes Library located at 1002 North Ninth Street in Stroudsburg.

“The quality, variety, and volume of books available for sale this year is enormous. We are optimistic the annual sales will raise significant funding for continued support of the library’s programs and services,” said Martha Linne, chairwoman for the Annual Book Sale.

The books are typically priced from 50 cents to $3 per book, with books of exceptional publishing date, title, or condition priced higher. In addition to the annual book sale the Friends of EMPL also manage an ongoing book sale throughout the year.

Titles in all genres are selected from donated books and displayed in the lobbies of both the Hughes Library and Smithfield branch. This book sale, on average, generates an additional annual revenue of approximately $20,000.

Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with a half-price sale from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and $8 bag day sale from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
