During their meeting Monday evening, the Ross Township supervisors announced the dates of three Summer Concerts in the Park and changed the date of their July meeting.
“Dave LaBar will perform on June 25 for the first concert. We are looking for a band or deejay for July 30 and Aug. 27,” said Deb Brown, the township secretary/treasurer.
The concerts begin at 5:30 p.m. and go until 8:30 p.m. or when it’s dark. Attendees should bring lawn chairs and blankets. Anyone interested in performing can call the township office, 570-992-4990.
Chairman James Zahoroiko suggested changing the July meeting from the 3rd, since Independence Day is the following day, and many people may be away for the long weekend.
The supervisors voted 3-0 to move the meeting to 6 p.m. July 10.
They also need to discuss how to proceed with Act 167, which refers to the Pennsylvania Stormwater Management Act of 1978 and was updated in 2006. Each county must prepare and adopt a watershed stormwater management plan for each watershed located in the county. The supervisors voted to meet 5 p.m. on July 10 if their engineer and other personnel are available.
The supervisors also voted 3-0 to increase full-time receptionist Melissa Ann Frantz-Monaco’s pay to $17 per hour and offer benefits.
“It’s been 90 days since you hired her. She is doing a great job,” said Brown before their vote.
Ethan Brewer, road foreman, said the crew is working four 10-hour days for the summer.
He has rented dumpsters for the Sept. 22 and 23 Cleanup Days. Residents can bring certain items. The drop off area is in the rear of the municipal building. The fee schedule is on the township website, https://rosstwp.com.
Brown is looking for volunteers, vendors and entertainment for Community Day on Sept. 16. Those interested can contact her.
