Two Tamaqua teenagers were cited for disorderly conduct after Tamaqua police said they set a fire at the borough’s skate park, 399 Spruce St., on May 13.
Officers arrived at 10:55 p.m. and saw a fire burning on top of one of the park’s ramps and two boys running from the area.
Police caught the boys, 15 and 17, and the 15-year-old admitted to starting the fire. Both had lighters and smelled like smoke, police said.
According to police, the fire was started using cardboard boxes and multiple Roman candle firework sticks.
The boys were released into the custody of their parents.
