With the reassignment of Father Robert Teklinski, parishioners at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Nesquehoning and St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Lansford, have wondered who will lead their congregations.

Teklinski said that a new priest for the parishes has not yet been announced, but the bishop in the diocese will see that the parishes are administered during the interim.

In a Facebook post on St. John the Baptist’s Facebook page, the board said that the church is alive and well and that a schedule of Liturgies and services will be posted on Facebook regularly and fundraising projects will move forward as planned.

“We hope to have a new spiritual leader assigned to the church quickly,” the post said.
