A New Tripoli woman is out almost a quarter million dollars after she was coerced to send money overseas in a scam.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks are investigating the incident involving the 73-year-old woman who lives along Golden Key Road in Lynn Township.

Police are labeling the case a “theft by disposition of funds” and said the stolen money totals $249,000.
