Mr. and Mrs. Claude Turton Jr. of Tamaqua celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary recently. The couple was married on June 21, 1952, at the Assumption of Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Northampton.

Mrs. Turton is the former Mary Jane Mazur, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Mazur of Northampton. Mr. Turton is the son of the late Claude A. Turton and Myrtle Turton of Allentown.The couple has three children: Craig Turton of Ashfield; Brian Turton, husband of Patti, of Hometown; and Janel, wife of Tom Tirpak, of Summit Hill. They also have five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
