The Carbon County commissioners acted on or discussed the following items on Thursday:
• Approved an application for funding from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, National Network of Public Health Institutes and International Association of Coroners to purchase supplies to assist in data sharing with vital records offices and public health agencies. The cost is $22,973 and the grant being applied for is $20,000. The remaining balance would be paid through the Vital Statistics Fund.
• Renewal of an agreement with St. Luke’s Hospital Carbon Campus to run a 20-second advertisement for Area Agency on Aging on the surgery waiting LCD screen from April 1 through March 31, 2024. The monthly rate is $200.

• Resignations: Julie A. Stefanowicz of Hazle Township, part-time K-9 officer, effective Feb. 12; and Frank L. DeVito of Bath, solicitor for Children and Youth Services, effective March 3.
• Prison board appointment: Jordan A. Bonet of Allentown, corrections officer, effective Feb. 27.
• Changes of status at the prison: O’Neil O. Chambers of Albrightsville, from corrections officer to sergeant, effective Feb. 20; Joshua F. Thamarus of Lansford, from corrections officer to sergeant, effective March 6; and Daniel P. Carpenter Jr. of Catasauqua, from corrections officer to sergeant, effective March 20.
