N. Lehigh football team recognized

Their superiority on the playing field resulted in another season for the ages.

For the mastery they displayed at their craft, the Northern Lehigh football team was feted for its accomplishments at Monday’s school board meeting.

District Athletic Director Bryan Geist read a proclamation on behalf of the 2022-2023 football team that reads as follows:

• The team finished with a record of 12 wins and 2 losses; captured the Mountain Road Rumble and Battle of Blue Mountain Trophies, the Colonial League Red Division Championship; the District XI Championship; and participated in the PIAA playoffs and won a state playoff game.

• Jackson VanNorman (offensive line); Austin Smyth (tight end); Nick Frame (offensive athlete); AJ Jimenez (defensive end); and Ethan Karpowich (linebacker) were name to the PA Sports Writers All-State Team.

• The team was recognized by the Pennsylvania Football News as the No. 6 ranked team in the State 1A category, by the Eastern Pennsylvania Football News as the No. 3 ranked team in the East of the State in the 1A category.

• Football coach Joe Tout was named the PIAA Football coach of the year.

• Jackson VanNorman (center); Austin Smyth (tight end and defensive end); Jayden Krempasky (defensive tackle); AJ Jimenez (defensive end); Bailey Smith (outside linebacker and punter); and Nick Frame (defensive back) were named to the Colonial League First Team.

• Brody Dye (guard); AJ Jimenez (running back); Nick Frame (athlete); and Sam Frame Jr. (defensive tackle) were named to the Colonial League Second Team.

• Chase Moffit (kicker) was named to the Colonial League Third Team.

• The team has brought distinction, acclaim, recognition, joy, and appreciation to the district.
