Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following personnel matters this week:

• Retirement of Cynthia Frendt, custodian, Jan. 3, 2023, after 43 years of service; Linda Brown, school counselor at Northern Lehigh Middle School, Jan. 23, 2023, after 35 years of service.

• Resignations, Heather VanBlargan, paraprofessional at Peters Elementary School, Aug. 2; Stephanie Gursky, permanent substitute for the district, Aug. 15; William Neal, fourth grade teacher at Slatington Elementary School, Aug. 10, or upon release; Sara Shimer, kindergarten teacher at Peters Elementary School, Aug. 18, or upon release; Jennifer Figueroa, paraprofessional at Northern Lehigh Middle School, effective at the end of the day on Aug. 28.

Appointments

• Michelle Siesko, professional employee, elementary K-6, salary $62,375, Step 5 Masters on the 2022-2023 CBA Salary Schedule, upon release from current employer; Justin Fritz, professional employee, elementary K-6, $62,375, upon release from current employer; Jessica Eckroth, Slatington Elementary School cafeteria monitor, $14.29 an hour, 3 hours per day, effective Sept. 19; placeholder, special education paraeducator high school, $15.91 an hour, 5.75 hours per day, effective upon hire; Amy Brown, ESSER paraprofessional Peters Elemetnary, $15.91 an hour, 5.75 hours per day, on or about Sept. 23.

Administrative transfers: Brittany Tremper, from Peters Elementary paraprofessional to Slatington Elementary paraprofessional, at no change in salary, effective Aug. 23; and Kassandra Beller, from ESSER ELDP paraprofessional to Slatington Elementary ESSER paraprofessional, at no change in salary, effective Oct. 3.

Webpage maintenance

• Stipend of $500 for Andrew Kern for high school website maintenance and working with students, to be funded by the general fund high school student activities fund, $1,000 for Kern for maintenance and updates of the district website, to be funded by the superintendent’s budget, Kern for middle school website maintenance and working with students during the 2022-2023 school year; a stipend in the amount of $500 for Janet Bashore for maintenance and updates of the Peters Elementary website, Kori Dibilio for maintenance and updates of the Slatington Elementary website, to be funded by the Slatington Elementary principal’s discretionary account, for the 2022-2023 school year.

Substitutes

• Julie Everett, substitute secondary detention monitor for Northern Lehigh High School for the 2022-2023 school year, at a salary of $20 per hour; renewed the appointments of substitute teachers Dawn Kemery, elementary, Alyssa Snyder, secondary, Candance Steffie, elementary, and Kristina Stopper, CLIU guest teacher, for the 2022-2023 school year; renewed the appointments of substitute secretary and paraprofessionals Joan DeSousa, Brenda Hahn, Erika Katona, Kay O’Donnell, Dawn Marie Tulio, and Jennifer Vasquez, for the 2022-2023 school year.

• Jessica Jackovitz and Jessica Evans as districtwide permanent substitute teachers for the 2022-2023 school year, to be paid a per diem rate of $150.

Bus drivers/aides

• Angelica Fernandez Delgado, Kerry Loch, and Brent Meinhart as bus drivers and aides from Brandywine Transportation to transport Northern Lehigh School District students for the 2022-2023 school year.
