Jim Thorpe children Brynn Thompson, 9, and Liam Thompson, 7, held their second annual Lemonade Stand to “put a squeeze in diabetes.” Their dad, Kevin Thompson, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes eight years ago when he was 27 years old. The family was hoping to beat last year’s donation of $643. This year the stand has raised $930.27, receiving cash, PayPal and Venmo donations and every penny will be sent to the Diabetes Research Institute to help find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.
