State police at the Pocono barracks reported investigating a one-vehicle crash along the turnpike in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, on July 6 at 5:49 p.m.

Troopers said Jerrell R. Johnson, 34, of Blakeslee, was driving a 2021 Nissan Altima southbound when the vehicle struck a center barrier before coming to rest along the shoulder.

Johnson and his passenger, Shanina L. Smith, 34, also of Blakeslee, were evaluated at the scene by Lehighton ambulance personnel.
