Schuylkill settles property sale dispute

At a work session meeting Wednesday, Schuylkill County commissioners settled a Coaldale woman’s objections to an upset sale of two properties held on Sept. 27, 2021.

The properties, one at 106 W. Phillip St. and the other at 4 E. Ruddle St., are owned by Gina T. Pasqualucci.

The sales are to be set aside, and the county Tax Claim Bureau will receive the full amount of delinquent taxes and costs that it would have received had the sales been completed.

Also on Wednesday, county Finance Director Paul E. Buber, on behalf of the Grant Writers Office, sought approval of a supplemental budget appropriation for $125,000.

In other matters, commissioners also agreed to renew the agreement with the Family Guidance Center, Wyomissing, to provide employee assistance program services from July 1 to June 30, 2023, at the rate of $10 per year per employee and an additional fee of $70 per counseling session. There is no increase in the cost of services.

Commissioners also approved independent contractor agreements with Maria Davenport, Pottsville, and Karleen Yarnell, Pottsville, to provide cleaning services in the court area. They’ll be paid $12 an hour for 12 to 15 hours a week.
