The Carbon Monarchs and Franklin Township earned baseball victories over the weekend.

Northern Vy.-Carbon

The Carbon Monarchs edged Northern Valley 2-1 in Lehigh Valley Senior Legion action.

Randy Bongiorno was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Monarchs, who led 2-0 after six innings. Tanner Yurchak was solid on the mound through six innings, allowing four hits and two walks with five strikeouts before Garrett Lienhard shut the door in the seventh inning.

Talan Sensinger added a hit and scored a run for the winners.

Samuel Mauro, Wesley George, Zach Russo and Morgan LaBuda had hits for Northern Valley, which pulled a run back in the top of the seventh inning.

Franklin.Salisbury

Franklin Township turned back Salisbury for a 7-5 win in a Lehigh Valley Connie Mack contest.

Dawson Keiser was 3-for-4 with two singles and a double fro Franklin with two runs scored. John Light added a pair of singles and a walk, while Cameron Gable added a home run and two RBIs, and Derek Behler doubled with two RBIs. Carter Birnbaum and Talan Sensinger also doubled with a run scored.

Hellertown-Franklin

A fast start lifted Franklin Township to an 8-3 win over Hellertown in Lehigh Valley Connie Mack action on Friday.

Adam Bastone (run scored), Jake Lewis and Aidan Albert (double) had two hits apiece for Franklin, which scored five runs in the first inning, and built an 8-0 advantage after three frames.

Albert tossed five solid innings to earn the win, striking out seven before Carter Birnbaum closed the door with two perfect innings of relief, striking out one.

Tamaqua-Post 625

Post 625 swept Tamaqua in a Schuylkill-Berks Legion doubleheader.

The Wildcats cruised to a 10-0 win in the first game against the Blue Sox in five innings.

Drew Campbell was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored for Post 625, while Will Ryan added three hits with three RBIs and a run scored. Kelton Faulk also doubled with an RBI and a run scored, while tossing five innings of one-hit ball with seven strikeouts.

Blaise Gigli had a hit for Tamaqua.

The Wildcats used a big sixth inning to overcome an early deficit en route to a 12-6 win in the second game.

Drew Campbell doubled among his two hits with two RBIs and a pair of runs scored for Post 625, which trailed 6-5 before scoring seven runs in the top of the sixth inning. Cole Pennypacker recorded two hits and three RBIs, while Julian Kemmerer and Colin Stoudt (double) also had two hits, a pair of RBIs with two runs scored for the winners.

Gianni Valentine (RBI, run scored), Stephen Modesto (RBI), Ryan Vecolitis and Blaise Gigli had hits for the Blue Sox.
