NL posts newest comprehensive plan

Northern Lehigh School District’s newest comprehensive plan has been posted on its website.

Assistant Superintendent Dr. Tania Stoker announced at Monday’s school board meeting that the district has posted its overall comprehensive plan on the district website, nlsd.org.

Stoker said to view it, click on the district office tab, where the first tab is comprehensive planning.

She said it shows the overall comprehensive plan, which will cover the period of July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025.

“So that three-year period, you can look at our goals and how we plan to accomplish those goals as a district,” she said. “Also posted is some of our sub-plans that are required under law as well.”

Stoker said that includes the district’s student services plans, gifted education plan, induction plan, professional development plan, and a special education plan as well, but that’s on a different timeline; that’s actually going to be approved earlier than the rest of it.

Stoker said the district needs to put all of those plans and sub-plans up on its Web page for a 28-day period for public review, and then they’ll be voted on by the board in August at the August board meeting to submit to the Pennsylvania Department of Education by the end of August.

“I want to thank everybody that was involved; we had a very robust steering committee,” she said. “We had nearly 50 people that participated from all stakeholder groups within the district.

“In addition, we sent out several surveys, and we had a really good response rate. Thank you to the community for participating in developing the next comprehensive plan.”
