Northern Lehigh School Board - curriculum and instruction
Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following curriculum and instruction matters on Monday:
• The Special Education Plan, beginning July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2024.
• Community Services for Children to operate the Head Start Pre-K program at Peters Elementary School from Aug. 1, 2022, through July 31, 2023, with the only obligation to the school district being to provide one classroom.
• A partnership agreement with Lehigh Carbon Community College in order to provide NLSD students with greater options to earn concurrent high school/college credit, with the term of the proposal between the school district and LCCC from Aug. 1, 2022, through July 31, 2023.
• Navigate360 as the Threat Assessment Tool at a cost not to exceed $7,090.
• Final agreement with CLIU 21 for Title I services for the 2021-22 school year in the amount of about $3,467, pending funding adjustment approval.
• To sign the agreement for the CLIU Overdrive Consortium for the 2022-2023 school year to provide e-books, audiobooks and other digital content at a cost of $2,000.
• To renew the Unique Learning System service contract for special needs students for the 2022-2023 school year at a cost of $1,921 (an increase of $175 from last year), to be funded through Medical Access.
• A one-year student license with ONEder Academy for the Social Emotional-Learning Curriculum at a cost of $1,050 for the 2022-2023 school year, to be funded through Medical Access.
• An affiliation agreement between the school district and Lehigh Carbon Community College for the use of the facilities of the agency by the faculty and students enrolled in the College’s Teacher Education Program.
• To execute contracts for Title I, Title IIA, Title III and Title IV for the 2022-2023 school year.
• An agreement between the school district and Behavioral Health Associated License Private Academic School for the purpose of furnishing regular education or special education programs for the students for the 2022-2023 school year.
• Jon Prive as helping teacher for Jacob Waylen, $800; Susanne Hegedus as helping teacher for Michael Smith, $200; Jess Frew as helping teacher for Shannon Jones, $800; Susan Mendes as helping teacher for Zachary Williams, $200; and Sue Beil as helping teacher for Michelle Blazofsky, $200.
