Northern Lehigh School Board - personnel

Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following personnel matters

• Resignations: Retirement of Scott Hankee, maintenance employee, effective Aug. 31, after 40 years of service; retirement of Jennifer Wentz, custodian, effective Sept. 23, after 19 years of service; Susan Holland, learning support teacher, Slatington Elementary School, effective July 24; Christopher Hamm, permanent district wide substitute teacher, effective June 8; Zachary Kunkle, maintenance employee, effective June 4.

• Appointments: Temporary professional employees Jacob Waylen, ELA high school teacher, $61,175; Shannon Jones, family consumer science teacher, $52,950; Michael Smith, elementary teacher, Peters Elementary, $52,750; Zachary Williams, special education teacher, Slatington Elementary, $61,475; Michelle Blazofsky, special education teacher, Slatington Elementary, $61,775; effective Aug. 23.

• Administrative transfers: Rajeev Gupta, from high school science teacher to high school/middle school science teacher; Amy Shonk, from high school/middle school science teacher to high school science teacher; Derrick Reinert, from high school/middle school math teacher to middle school math/social studies teacher; Elizabeth Hannon, from high school/middle school social studies teacher to high school social studies teacher; Deanna Quay, from high school science teacher to high school German/science teacher; and Paige Schmidt, from high school math teacher to high school/middle school math teacher, at no change in salary, effective Aug. 23. Also Heather Kenyon, from Bookkeeper II to Bookkeeper I, $60,000, effective July 1.

• Summer Program Positions: Amy Shonk, instructor, Collective Bargaining Agreement current rate per hour, with premium pay up to $1,000 upon completion of the program, for the I.N.S.P.I.R.E. Summer 2022 Program; Kim Deprill and Sky March, paraprofessionals, hourly rate, with premium pay up to $750 upon completion of program up to $750; Tim Weaber, Bulldog Academy facilitator, CBA current rate per hour, with premium pay up to $1,000 upon completion of the program.

• Sarah Fink, Zachary Merkle, Derrick Reinert and Raquel Hoffert, as temporary professional employee status, for having satisfactorily completed three years of service to the district.

• Jose Batista, Joesaynel Garcia, Braden Marzen, Austin Rex, Christopher Taveras, summertime maintenance/custodial helpers for the summer of 2022.

• Amended the motion approved on May 9, and approved to continue to employ Jenn Haas as transportation paraprofessional for a student. The extended school year program runs June 27-Aug. 5. Approved compensation for five hours per day at her agreed upon 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 hourly rate plus the completion program premium pay of $750.

• An increase in the hourly rate for the lead maintenance position, Christopher Mann, by 50 cents per hour, which is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the school district and the Northern Lehigh Educational Support Personnel Association.

• Retroactively approved Nancy Adames, van driver from Brandywine Transportation, to transport Northern Lehigh School District students for the 2021-2022 school year.
