Northern Lehigh School Board - financial
Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following financial matters Monday:
• Sargent Enterprise Inc. to remove quarry tile in the Northern Lehigh Middle School kitchen, at a cost not to exceed $9,500, to be funded through the Buildings and Grounds budget. The scope of work will demolish and dispose of lead containing quarry tile at the base of the two serving lines and the cooler.
• Spotts, Stevens & McCoy group to provide air monitoring and final clearances, at a cost not to exceed $4,000, to be funded through the Buildings and Grounds budget.
• To hire one additional student summer worker at a rate not to exceed $12.50 per hour.
• Insurance coverage for the 2022-23 school year: Commercial Package and Automobile Graphic Arts Mutual (Utica) Insurance Company, $102,193, an increase of $5,986 over last year’s rate; Commercial Umbrella Liability Insurance - Republic Franklin Insurance (Utica), $17,893, an increase of $1,035; School Leaders Error and Omissions Liability - American International Group Inc (National Union Fire), $31,000, no premium change; Law Enforcement Liability for School Police Officers - Greenwich Insurance Company (XL Catlin), $3,491, an increase of $147; and Cyber Security Liability - ACE American (Chubb), $14,751, an increase of $4,354.
• Dr. Nicole Sully and Dr. Amy Gourniak of Parkland Family Health Center as school physicians for the 2022-23 school year. The fee for grade level physicals will be $20 each. Consultant services will be provided at no charge.
• Dr. Harry Shleifer of Broadway Family Dentistry as the school dentist for the 2022-23 school year at the quoted fee of $1 per dental exam needed.
• Fuel bids to the following companies with a contract period of July 1 to June 30, 2023: Unleaded gasoline tank wagon delivery ($5.7450 per gallon), #2 Grade fuel oil tank wagon delivery ($6.29 per gallon), bio diesel fuel tank wagon delivery ($5.94 per gallon), and anti-gel additive for ultra low sulfur diesel and #2 heating oil ($.0350 per gallon) to Talley Petroleum.
• The renewal of PNC Benefit Plus as the Flexible Spending Account Administrator for medical and dependent care expenses, effective July 1, $3.50 per month per participant for a single plan and $3.95 per month per participant for both plans.
• School District’s Insurance Consortium as the district’s workers’ compensation carrier for the 2022-23 school year at an estimated premium of $80,903, an increase of about $4,803. Final cost is based on actual payroll figures.
• Upon final approval of the 2022-23 budget, a lease from California First National Bank, 28 Executive Park, Suite 200, Irvine, California, for $50,000 per year with a lease term of 36 months and a $1 buyout option at the end of the lease agreement. The lease will be used to purchase Chromebooks and projectors.
• Purchase of Adobe Creative Cloud Licenses for high school, $2,460, and Lightspeed Classroom Management Licenses for the 2022-23 school year for all grades, $8,240, to be funded through the ESSER grant.
• Administration to sign the revised CLIU 21 TransPerfect Agreement with updates rates to provide language interpreting related services as needed.
