The Lehighton Area Lioness Lions board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Zion United Church of Christ.

The club is preparing for a community dinner at the church that day, beginning at 5 p.m.Upcoming events include a bake sale and the Carbon County Fair rotating basket raffle at Giant in Lehighton on May 3.The club will also offer a food stand at the Crusaders for a Cause from May 14 through May 17 at the Palmerton Community Park on Delaware Avenue in Palmerton.Anyone needing financial assistance with eyeglasses can contact committee chairwoman Lisa Whitehead at 610-379-4002.There are financial guidelines that must be followed by all applicants and a written application must be completed and approved.Anyone interested in becoming involved with Lionism is asked to contact Brenda Green at 570-657-7453, or email the club at
