The Tamaqua Volunteers group is spearheading a drive to assist five victims of Thursday's early morning blaze that ravaged four houses.

Gift cards to support the five displaced residents of South Center Street can be dropped off at the Tamaqua Salvation Army, 105 W. Broad St.President Andy Leibenguth said food and clothing items are not needed at this point as those provisions have been met.Gift cards from retail outlets such as Walmart are encouraged.The Tamaqua Salvation Army and American Red Cross are assisting with temporary housing for a few of the victims, while others are staying with relatives.
