At 6:01 p.m. July 5, an eastbound Subaru Impreza driven by Matthew Smulligan of Andreas rear-ended a Toyota Highlander driven by Dana Powlette of Reading on Route 443 by Tractor Supply. A third vehicle was struck by debris, cracking its windshield. Of the five people involved, two sustained injuries and were transported by EMS to Blue Mountain Health Systems for treatment. Smulligan is being cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
