Ronald M. Esrang, Jim Thorpe, whose career with the U.S. Postal Service had its inception on Dec. 6, 1956, has been appointed Postmaster in that community.
The 44-year-old former minor league baseball second baseman will officially assume his new duties on Feb. 26, having been advised of the promotion by the Wilkes-Barre Sectional Center’s Personnel Department.
He succeeds to the vacancy created by the retirement of Gerald L. Haggerty, also of that community, on Oct. 22, 1976.
A Korean War veteran, Esrang played in the Philadelphia A’s organization from 1951-56, before starting as a substitute clerk-carrier in Jim Thorpe in 1956.
