An agreement is in place for Northern Lehigh School District’s confidential administrative assistant to the superintendent.

On an 8-0 vote, the school board on Monday approved the new salary and benefit agreement between the district and Elivonne “Elly” Mendez.

Mendez’s salary is $51,000, and the contract duration is for five years.

Director Robert Kern was absent.

Other business

The board also approved the following on Monday:

• Lehigh Valley Hot Air Balloon Association to use the district’s parking lot facilities on Oct. 15 for the festival to be held at the Slatington Airport.

• Mishpachah Inc. to use the Northern Lehigh High School auditorium on June 12 for a music production.

• Nominated Director Gale Husack to be placed on the 2022 Ballot for Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit board of directors for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025.

• To reaffirm the school board governance standards and code of conduct referenced in school board policy #011 - Local Board Procedures - Board Governance Standards/Code of Conduct as recommended by the Pennsylvania School Board Association.

• The middle school curriculum guide for the 2022-2023 school year.

• The high school program of study for the 2022-2023 school year.
