The West Penn Township board of supervisors junked its proposed junk car ordinance after receiving comments and complaints from residents.
The ordinances were very specific, with one dealing with junked cars and the other involving any other type of material that was deemed to be junk. Two of the three board members agreed with the public's opinion that the ordinances were too strict. While in favor of cleaning up the township, the board's majority members felt current zoning laws, if properly applied, could do the same job.
