A celebration was held Tuesday at the Hometown Nursing center to celebrate the 100th birthday of Mary Wassil Rapach.

Mary was born to Michael and Katherine Wassil on March 25, 1916, in the town of Harwood Mines. She had seven brothers and sisters.She married Andrew Rapach and had two children: Michael, who is deceased, and a daughter, Andrea.She has nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Rapach.Mary worked in the garment industry in Hazleton for 25 years.To celebrate her birthday, Mary and the residents enjoyed cake. They sang and danced to the music provided by Rob Balloonoff.
