Debt collection suit

Shawn Kresge Electric, 908 North St., Suite A, Jim Thorpe, has filed a civil action against Pro-Cere Constructors LLC and Mark Reese, Center Valley, alleging the defendants failed to release funds owed Kresge for services and supplies provided for a job at 428 S. Seventh St., Lehighton.

The plaintiff alleges on Oct. 30, 2018, he entered contract in the amount of $80,203 with the defendants for the job and that the defendant paid invoices in the amounts of $26,734.90 and $40,000 through January 2019.

Kresge contends invoices in the amounts of $13,468.30 and $3,915.96 submitted in February 2019 remain unpaid. The complaint alleges Kresge was told by the defendants that the owners of the property where the work was performed failed to release funds. The owners, the complaint states, told Kresge they did pay Pro-Cere those amounts.

The plaintiff is seeking judgment in the amount of $17,384.26 plus interest, penalty, costs and attorney’s fees.

Borough sues its ZHB

Jim Thorpe Borough, 101 E. 10th St., has filed a suit against its Zoning Hearing Board over a decision it rendered that the borough claims erroneously interprets the town’s zoning ordinance.

The appeal says the ZHB granted a variance to Hassan H. Ambaz who appealed a zoning officer’s denial of a permit for off-street parking at 104 W. Broadway.

The borough contends following a hearing on Oct. 21, 2021, the ZHB rendered a written decision on Dec. 4, 2021, granting the variance, deeming it approved because the application was not approved or denied within 15 days by the zoning officer.

The borough asks the court to reverse the ZHB’s action.

DJ appeal filed

TD Bank, USA, NA, Philadelphia, has filed an appeal of a decision rendered by Magisterial District Judge William J. Kissner of Palmerton over a debt collection (credit card) action.

Kissner ruled on Dec. 17, 2021, in favor of Linda A. Crisanti, 455 Acorn Drive, Lehighton.

Credit card defaults

Discover Bank, New Albany, Ohio, has filed a credit card default case against Thomas E. Silvonek III, 615 Iron St., Lehighton.

Judgment in the amount of $15,020.93, plus costs and interest, is sought.

J.P. Morgan Chase, Bank, N.A., Mechanicsburg, has filed a credit card default case against Nancy Redcay, P.O. Box 1960, Albrightsville.

Judgment in the amount of $10,946.55, plus costs and interest, is sought.

Township filed liens

Lower Towamensing Township, 595 Hahn’s Dairy Road, Palmerton, has filed a lien against U.S. Bank N.A., Westlake Village, California, over a property at 380 Hahn’s Dairy Road in the township.

The township contends the property owner owes it $231.50 in unpaid trash fees for 2018.

The township also filed a lien against Michael Elie Khater, State College, over a property at 30 Douglas St.

It contends Khater owes $777.63 for n trash fees at that property for 2016-18.

A third lien was filed against Andrew Michael Grate Jr., Bethlehem, over a property at 60 Gingko Road, claiming Grate owes unpaid trash fees at that property in the amount of $372.63 for 2017-17.

The township filed a lien against FMB Barney LLC, Bethlehem, over a property on Harris Lane.

The lien is in the amount of $791.61 and is for unpaid trash fees for 2019.

Borough liens filed

Lansford Borough, 1 W. Ridge St., filed a lien against Angelina and Regina Ingrassia, 317½ W. Bertsch St., Lansford, over property at that address.

The borough contends the defendants owe unpaid trash fees in the amount of $718.51 for 2017.

The borough filed a lien against Diana Weatherholt and Henry O. Lalmquist, 360 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, over a property at 2 Leisenring St.

The lien is in the amount of $983.71 an represents unpaid trash fees for 2018-19.

A third lien filed by the borough is against Dennis L. Laul, 10 South St., Tamaqua, over a property at 316-318 E. Kline Ave.

It seeks $1,127.61 in unpaid trash fees for 2018-20.

A lien against Kobi Klingensmith, 22 Tunnel St., Lansford, was filed by the borough in the amount of $1,127.61.

It contends Klingensmith owes $1,127.61 in unpaid trash fees at that property for 2018-20.

The borough also filed a lien against John P. Horvath Jr., 506 E. Kline Ave., Lansford, over a property at that address.

The lien is in the amount of $1,061.61 for unpaid trash fees for 2019-20.

Ambulance wants funds

The Palmerton Community Ambulance Association has placed on record a judgment that was ordered in its behalf against Arthur C. Jr. and Bertha Shreffler, 47 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning.

The judgment was ordered by Magisterial District Judge William J. Kissner of Palmerton on Oct. 20, 2020, in the amount of $1,562.24.

The association also recorded a judgment against Allan B. Quarles, 116 Panther Run Road, Jim Thorpe.

It was ordered by Judge Kissner on Oct. 19, 2017, in the amount of $1,996.22.

A third judgment recorded is against Christopher J. and Chelsea R. Rider, 609 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton.

That judgment was ordered by Judge Kissner on May 25, 2017, in the amount of $1,790.92.

Judgments recorded

Pro Line Polymers, Buffalo, Indiana, has placed on record a judgment against Plastic World Recyclers, 700 Lehigh St., Palmerton.

The judgment was ordered by Magisterial District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton on Oct. 12, 2021, in the amount of $3,423.15.

Mortgage foreclosure

Nationstar Mortgage LLC, Coppell, Texas, has filed a mortgage foreclosure complaint against Bri Montana, Shana Montana and the Barbara Renee Montana Estate, Rego Park and the Bronx, New York, over a property at 25 Hunter Lane, formerly known as 305 Hunter Lane, Albrightsville.

Judgment in the amount of $162,115.43 plus interest, costs and attorney’s fees is sought.

Day care lien filed

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry, Harrisburg, has filed a lien against Jennifer L. Koch and the Small World Day Care Center, 510 Interchange Road, Lehighton.

The lien is in the amount of $14,249.98 and represents employer withholding taxes owed the state for 2017-2020.
