The late Howard K. Ward of Lake Harmony was memorialized during a brief ceremony at the site of the Kidder Township Municipal Building.

A former vice chairman of the township’s board of supervisors, Ward was lauded for his service by Charles Getz, the board’s current chairman.

A beautiful 12-foot-high spruce tree, appropriately illuminated for the Yuletide season, was dedicated in Ward’s honor. A plaque that will be presented to his widow, Carol, cites “He served willingly and unselfishly.”

Mrs. Fern Rowe was the prime mover in arranging for the dedicatory program, aided by Mrs. Shirley Hewitt and Mrs. Mildred Klotz.
