November 11, 2000 - Lehighton advances to the PIAA state field hockey semifinals for the first time in school history after gaining a 2-1 victory over Camp Hill. The Indians, coached by Sharon Elder, get on the board first in the opening half off a corner when Mallory Reabold deflects a hard drive by Sam Nonweiler. The corner was earned moments earlier when Janie Neff’s shot hits off a defender’s foot. Lehighton extends its advantage in the second half as Ashley Frey tips in a loose ball. Camp Hill scores 15 seconds later and applies more pressure, but the Indians hang on for the win.
