The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts.

Crash suit

Marion Rodgers, 257 Pine St., Palmerton, as executrix of the estate of Charles Rodgers, has filed a civil complaint seeking damages as the result of an automobile crash.

Defendant in the action is John Marino, 470 Kuehner Ave., Slatington.

The suit states Charles Rodgers died on June 26, 2020, at the age of 86.

The suit further states on Oct. 14, 2019, Marion Rodgers was operating a 2007 Jeep Compass with Charles Rodgers as a front seat passenger, and was stopped on Delaware Avenue, at Fifth Street, Palmerton, for a red traffic light. The suit states the light turned green and she proceeded through the intersection when her vehicle was struck by a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus operated by Marino. The suit alleges Marino failed to stop for a red traffic light.

The suit states Charles Rodgers sustained serious injuries, detailed in the suit, and medical expenses, due to the injuries, which continued until his death.

Negligence for the crash is alleged against the defendant and sought are damages in excess of $50,000.

Loan default

Ally Bank, 4000 Lexington Ave., Shoreview, Minnesota, filed a civil action against Charles N. Griffin III, 10 Cedar Lane, Albrightsville, alleging he defaulted on a Retail Installment Contract for the purchase of a vehicle. Sought is $25,631.77 plus interest, costs and fees.
