Given a test, the result was 0.18 BAC.Sentencing was deferred.Matthew Karl Stoffan Jr., 31, of Whitehall, was arrested on March 29 by Mahoning Township police along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive West. Given a test, the result was 0.16 BAC.Sentencing was deferred.Sentencing was deferred in the four cases because of a recent state Supreme Court ruling. The court ruled that defendants in DUI cases can't be sentenced until they have a drug and alcohol evaluation. If that evaluation calls for a more comprehensive evaluation that must also be completed before sentencing. The four did not have either the initial evaluation or the more in-depth one, thus the deferment.
