A Tamaqua man and one from Nesquehoning had simple assault and harassment charges held for the Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas recently.
Khalid Holland, 20, of Tamaqua, and Nicholas Onea, 20, of Nesquehoning, appeared before Magisterial District Justice Richard Cashman Oct. 5 on the charges when they waived their preliminary hearing. Each had a charge of aggravated assault withdrawn.
West Penn Township Police responded to Mill Head Road for a noise complaint and underage drinking party on July 10.
Days later, the victim went to the police station and said he was assaulted by the men, charging documents say. He said Holland grabbed him from behind, throwing him to the ground and punched him in the face. Onea kicked him in the head and neck area, police said.
He was taken to St. Luke’s Miners Campus. Medical personnel diagnosed him with a broken nose, contusions and a head injury.
