Summit Hill resident Howard Long, 147 W. Holland St., called for the hiring of a borough manager to get more mileage out of the community's tax dollars during a meeting of the borough council.

Long said the citizens are not getting the services they should by getting for the taxes they pay, citing several conditions he felt the borough was not tending to, including low parking meter collections, lights burning 24 hours a day and weeds growing as high as 18 inches in places around borough streets. He also presented a petition bearing 250 names opposing the placing of playground equipment in the borough park across Ludlow Street from the borough hall.
