The Weatherly baseball field is in need of a concession stand, according to resident Allen Knepper.
Knepper made the stand request during Wednesday night's school board meeting, asking if the board could help with the purchasing of 2 or 3 tons of stone needed to level the ground for the 8-by-10-foot shed to be placed on."Right now it's a table and extension cord. We could use a hand with the stand. Last year we used the soccer stand, and no one knows where all our stuff went," he said.He told the board the card table and extension cord are used for threeslow cookers during the games."It'll just be a concession, maybe we will add a fridge, right now we lug coolers and ice. If it's raining we can't do anything," Knepper said. The cost for the stand will be an estimated $2,270, with the seller knocking off $500 from the original price for the school."We still have to talk to the PTA and Booster Club, but we wanted to get permission first," he said.Board Vice President Amy Potsko told Knepper that the Transportation and Property Committee would discuss his request and get back to him with an answer.
