Carbon County officials are helping parking lot attendants to better traverse the long county lot in Jim Thorpe.

On Thursday, the board approved a quote from Don’s Auto and Golf Care Repair Inc. of Lehighton to purchase an electric golf cart at a cost of $9,500.

Commissioner Chris Lukasevich said the lot is 0.88 miles long so it is beneficial for the attendants to have one if they need to go to the end of the lot.

Commissioners’ Chairman Wayne Nothstein added that it will also help in the event they need to transport cones or other items through the parking lot.
