Woman charged in death of baby found in trash bag

State police at Frackville have arrested a Middleport woman in the death of a days-old girl 

whose body was discovered in a trash bag.Tara Lynne Paltanavage, 22, of 189 Winfield Drive, faces charges of endangering the welfare of children, concealing the death of a child, recklessly endangering another person and abuse of a corpse.She was arraigned before District Judge David Plachko of Port Carbon and jailed under $250,000 bail.According to a report released by police, another person who lives in the house called police at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to report finding the infant’s body in a trash bag on the property.The relationship between Paltanavage and the infant was not clear as of late Tuesday.Paltanavage has no prior arrests, according to online court records.The house at 189 Winfield Drive is owned by a Chris Stoops, according to Schuylkill County online property records.County coroner David Moylan planned to perform a “virtual autopsy,” or CAT scan., of the body Tuesday evening. A forensic autopsy will be performed at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, Lehigh County.
