A Nesquehoning man, who was previously charged in an armed robbery case in Nesquehoning earlier this year, is in trouble with the law again.

Izael Flores, 19, of 116 Willow Lane, has been charged by Nesquehoning police with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and possession of a small amount of marijuana.According to an affidavit of probable cause, at 6:40 p.m. Friday, Nesquehoning patrolman Carl Breiner received a report of an assault that happened on the 200 block of East Center Street around 3 p.m. that day.The victim of the assault, who went to the hospital for treatment of a broken arm, spoke with Breiner about the incident.During the discussion, Breiner noted that the victim's arm was in a sling and wrapped in a medical covering.The victim told police that he was with a friend when Flores approached him. The two do not get along.Flores then reached into his waist line, and pulled a large wooden club, approximately 24 inches in length, from his pants, the affidavit states.The victim asked Flores if he was pulling a weapon on him, to which Flores responded verbally before swinging the club at the victim's head.The victim blocked the blow with his forearm, resulting in the injury.Breiner went to Flores' residence and as he was leaving, saw Flores walking to his home. Flores then fled into the woods to avoid being arrested.Officers were able to locate Flores and arrested him. While patting him down, they found a small amount of marijuana.He was arraigned before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek on Friday, who set bail at $5,000.He has been committed to Carbon County Correctional Facility.His preliminary hearing has been set for Dec. 23.Flores was one of five men charged in the armed robbery of two juvenile girls in January, where the suspects took a cellphone from one of the girls at gunpoint.Flores pleaded guilty in July to criminal conspiracy for his involvement in that case. Although there was a gun used in the robbery attempt, the assistant district attorney informed the court that at trial the state could not prove that Flores ever handled the gun.He was sentenced before Judge Joseph Matika in September to nine to 24 months, with 245 days credit for time served on a charge of conspiracy to commit robbery.Flores was also ordered to do 100 hours of community service and pay $170 in restitution to the victims as well as serve one year probation upon his release from jail.
