State police at Fern Ridge reported a two-vehicle crash at 10:03 a.m. on July 17, along Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Ewa Matys, 59, of Stroudsburg, was stopped in the northbound lane due to traffic ahead of her while a 17-year-old male from Saylorsburg, was northbound. The teen was traveling too fast for conditions and was unable to stop. The front of his 2005 Volkeswagen GTI hit the rear of Matys’ 2019 Honda CRV.

Matys was injured and taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance.

The teen was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
