A Lansford man entered guilty pleas on Monday morning in Carbon County court in two pending cases and was sentenced to a prison term.
Paul Leslie, 49, pleaded to one count each of flight to avoid apprehension, simple assault and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was arrested on the flight and assault counts on Feb. 21 by Lansford police for incident along East Ridge Street. Police attempted to serve a warrant on Leslie and he became unruly and struggled with officers. In exchange for the plea, an aggravated assault involving a police officer was dropped.
In the drug case he was arrested on East Ridge Street on March 3, 2019, by Lansford police.
Leslie admitted to an alcohol abuse problem which he is addressing.
On the simple assault count Nanovic sentenced him to serve six to one day less 24 months in prison, on the flight charge three to one day less 24 months; and the drug count one to 12 months. All the terms run concurrently.
He was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, supply a DNA sample, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole.
He was given credit for 15 days already served. He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. on July 12. He was granted work-release privileges.
