Carbon County court — DUI

Three defendants, who previously pleaded guilty to driving under the influence charges, were sentenced on Thursday in Carbon County court by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

Jessica Hartman, 31, of Palmerton, was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail followed by five years in the county’s Restrictive Conditions of Probation program (house arrest) with the first 50 days on electronic monitoring, ordered to pay a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months and supply a DNA sample.

She was arrested on Aug. 1, 2018, by Palmerton police.

She will begin the jail term at 10 a.m. on July 2 and serve it on consecutive two-day weekends.

Donna M. Kleyling, 36, of Danielsville, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000 and license suspended for a year.

She was arrested on Feb. 10, 2020, by state police at Lehighton along Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township. She refused a test.

She was given credit for 12 days spent in an inpatient rehabilitation program and paroled.

Allen Steven Montanari, 46, of Palmerton, was placed in the RCP program for five years with the first 90 days on electronic monitoring, ordered to pay a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months and supply a DNA sample. On a driving under suspension charge he was fined $1,000.

He was arrested on the suspension count on March 15, 2016, by state police at Lehighton along Interchange Road in Lehighton. A DUI count was dropped in a plea deal. He was arrested on the DUI charge on the same day by Palmerton police along Delaware Avenue. He was also arrested on a third DUI the same day in Lehigh County. He has already served his sentence for the Lehigh County arrest.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
